Joust

I've gone game crazy today... lol.

O.k. this one used to be my favorite... It's really simple... Just use the spacebar to flap your wings and the arrow keys for moving.

There's a lot more where this came from... http://www.shockwave.com/

Donkey Kong

Another Flash game for the nostalgic... This one's a classic. Use the arrow keys to move Mario and the spacebar to make him jump. How far up can you get?

P.S. If you can't get Mario to move, click on the screen with your mouse and it should work.

And for more games like this one go to: http://www.cyberiapc.com/flashgames.htm

JPong

A simple little java game for the nostalgic at heart.

Amber MacArthur

Co-producer and co-host on Call for Help (daily one-hour TV show) and Gadgets & Gizmos, Web Strategy Manager at OsmosisIA and Arktyp and she still has time to produce a weekly web/tech news video show online called commandN (www.commandn.tv).

I think I'm in love.

The Social Crime Radio Network

I used to listen to this everyday at work(making cartoons for television) when I lived in Montreal. I had completely forgot about it until a few days ago when I accidentally installed "Itunes"(Apparently it comes as a bonus along with the latest QuickTime). Now I'm listening to it again and it's sidesplittingly funny.

You can tune into Social Crime in Winamp's media library under "Online Media", "Shoutcast Radio" or in "Itunes" under the Radio Tab in "Talk/Spoken Word". There's probably many more ways to listen to this radio station but these are the only two I know of. Have Fun!

Gizmo Project

Gizmo project is a free phone for your computer. Those of you who are familiar with skype will love this. Why you ask? Simply because it has a lot more features than skype. Check it out and see for yourself. I haven't had time to test it so I don't know about the sound quality.

Blackout

Blackout is a first person shooter created with Flash. I found this last year when I was visiting the official Dawn of the Dead Movie Website eagerly anticipating the movie's release into theaters (one of my favorite movies of all time by the way). For a flash based game it's pretty awesome. Ohh yeah... And the best part is you get to kill zombies. I still like to play it once in a while.

I tried to post a link directly to the game but for some reason it won't work. But it's easy to get to it once you've entered the official website. All you need to do is look for the word Blackout at the top right hand corner of the screen once you've entered the website.

Also you will need to have Macromedia Shockwave Flashplayer 8 installed to play the game. Your browser should automatically prompt you to download all the necessary plug-ins. Have Fun!

Lucy in the sky with Shatner?

Is this what becomes of Science-Fiction Icons?
Crazy Cop Chase

Is it just me or does anybody else feel that since the police in North America have video camera's in their vehicles, they actually think they're in an action movie. This guy must have seen a few too many Lethal Weapon movies. When I see video footage like this, I can't help but wonder about the danger they put innocent bystanders in.

The Knife: Heartbeats

I found this on my friend's BLOG Monsieur Bizarre... Lurid Bjorkesque scattered with molecules of Kate Bush like vocals against a backdrop of thumping and dippy beats. The knife are: Karin and Olof Driejer; siblings from Stockholm.

José Gonzalez does a cover of this song, you can find it here: http://www.myspace.com/josegonzalezmusic

Ohh yeah... By the way Jesse... I like the original better. lol
I think I'll download their album (if I can find it) it's called Deep Cuts.

RocketMan

I recently watched a television show on TechTV (a.k.a. G4TV) called Attack of the Show. On it, they featured an interview with "The RocketMan". If you love things that go really fast I suggest you visit this website. Ky Michaelson a.k.a. "The Rocketman" has the largest collection of rocket powered vehicles known to man and he engineered them all himself.

Check out the latest addition to his rocket powered vehicle collection:
The Rocket Powered Scooter

P.S. He actually named his son Buddy Rocketman Michaelson. I kid you not. It's on his birth certificate.

Creature Features

Those of you who know me well are aware of the fact that I'm a huge Sci-Fi and Horror movie fanatic... I got this book(more accurately it's a "Guide") from a friend once. Creature Features is "the" Science-Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Movie Guide. The book I have only covers movies up until 1996 but I will, eventually, purchase an updated one.

For those of you who don't know him, John Stanley hosted the popular Creature Features TV series in the San Francisco Bay area for six years. He has covered the science fiction, fantasy, and horror scene for the San Francisco Chronicle for more than thirty years. He has interviewed dozens of superstars and genre stars.

Foreign films, animated films, silent films, films you forgot about, films you didn't even know existed. Creature Features has all this and more. Thousands of capsulized reviews, a five star rating system, hundreds of rare and obscure titles, video and laserdisc distribution information, cross-references to secondary titles, sequels and tricky retitlings. But what I love most about this guide, is the humor. If a movie really sucks, John Stanley's review of it will often make you laugh. Every fan should have it.

REALITY CHECK

Do you ever get the impression that you're life is so mundane compared to everyone else's on this godforsaken planet?... I'll tell you why.... It's because of the false image of what life should be like that's being fed to us through television.

When television first started out, it was for people to escape into a fantasy world... Example... You come home from work, you want to relax after supper and put your feet up and turn on the tube so you can watch the Fonz get Richie Cunningham and his friends out of another mess that they got their selves into... You could go back even further and it would be shows like Leave it to Beever or Gilligan's Island that would take your mind off a hard days work... In short, people used television to get away from their boring day to day lives. But most people knew that it was all make believe. And I do say most, because there were and still are a few freaks out there who thought the Fonz really did exist. And even then, as innocent as these shows seemed at the time, they did brainwash us into believing that in order to be accepted by everyone else in life, you need to get married and have half a dozen kids and a maid to clean up after you while you sit around doing nothing just like the Brady Bunch.

Now what do we have on TV? American Idols And Rockstars, Survivors and Amazing Races, Big Brothers and Surreal Lives and they call this "Reality TV"... Now people are coming home after work to kick back, relax and watch someone else's more glamorous life wishing they could spend a day in their shoes. To all the people out there who think this is "Reality", excuse me for bursting your bubbles, but nothing you see on TV is real... It's all scripted. Do you really believe the "Big Networks" would let people do what they want on television. If you do, then you're more gullible than I thought. Hell, even Jerry Springer admitted that 80 or 90 percent of his show is fake... It's kinda weird when you think of it (and I don't mean weird in a good way)...

Reality TV is turning us all into a mindless culture that wants to experience life without living it.
